My name is Lucaz, I'm from Singapore. I was 24 years old, an average year one University student who had a life path planned out where I was supposed to finish school, get a job, and work from 9-5 until 65. While studying, I was working 3 part-time jobs, from Monday to Sunday, morning until night, just to make as fast and as much money as possible so that I could quickly clear off my student loans, live a better life, and have the ability to travel and see the world.
However, I realized that my senior colleagues who were much more experienced than me were still overworking, underpaid and under appreciated even after so many years. Everyday became just a routine, and they were just going through the motion. I didn't want to become like them letting days, weeks, and years slowly slip away, I didn't want to trade away the best 40 years of my life for a salary just to pay the bills every month, and more importantly, I didn't want to live a life full of regrets.
On March 23rd 2012, I ventured into the world of entrepreneurship and it was very challenging as I didn't had any experience, no business knowledge, no mentor. no help, no guidance, no capital, and no credibility. It seemed so impossible to succeed.
To top it off, my friends all laughed, ridiculed, made fun of me, and even despised me when I told them about my idea of building my business so that I could become financially free when I graduate.
I felt like giving up so many times. But every time I think of the people who laughed, ridiculed, and made fun of me, I couldn't bring myself to quit and proved to them that they were right.
In January 2014, 1 month after I graduated from University, my income was built up to more than a graduate's pay. While all my peers were all out sending resumes, looking for corporate jobs and beginning to start their career working until 65, I was already financially retired 39 years earlier; with all the time, financial stability, and energy to travel the world and start living my life of freedom at the age of only 26.
Today, I'm 28 years old as I'm writing this, been on more than 40 vacations ever since, fulfilled my dream of taking my parents to visit the Niagara Falls and an epic helicopter ride across the majestic Grand Canyon. I'm also very grateful to fulfill my childhood dream of visiting the 7 Wonders of the World in one single trip, and now having the best time of my life.
The most rewarding experiences through my entrepreneurial journey is helping and watching how stressed-out executives, struggling parents, single mothers, young entrepreneurs, and many people of different background turn their life around. I'm now sharing my journey to inspire people to retire young, travel the world, and live an extraordinary life.
